Bahama Showers

In the Bahamas, we showered by Dawn Soap and Ocean Water. Dawn is biodegradable, and disappears suds in the water. I remember judging the use of Dawn until I was told this. One instance of Bahama showers, I remember us bathing. We dove into the water at 15 feet from the bow. We slid into crystal clear, warm water, and it was like swimming through air! My soul glistened with happiness.

We would wear goggles, peering into the 20 feet below and seeing absolutely everything: freckled white sand, sea floor life, algae rising, and fish–even sand sharks–sliding through the lower current. We were safe. We were blessed. We were Alive.

& still to this day I am Alive.

And I thank every day that I get to experience it.
